Southeast Asia will debut the first low- cost blockchain phone and with a promise to launch in the US and European very soon.
The name “Acute Angle” blockchain phone was announced by Huobi Global Tuesday during the launch at the rate of $515. The Acute Angle is made by Whole Network, a startup that Huobi invested in.
Similarly, Whole Network’s NODE token will be listed on Huobi Prime as announced today . For roughly half the price, now Running against competitors like Sirin Labs’ $1,000 “Finney” phone, the Whole Network device can be purchased with Huobi’s native token, HT.
Acute Angle is now currently available in China with a Q4 2019 launch scheduled for Southeast Asia. This is based on Android operating system. The rollout date is yet to be given for U.S.A and Europe.
Blockchain-based phones have a bright future, in a statement by Huobi Global CEO Livio Weng:
“We believe many more crypto communities will want to trade and transact from mobile devices as the industry develops as well as innovations like 5G become increasingly integrated into our telecommunications systems , definitely blockchain phones are a promising area for future blockchain industry development..”
Some features in Acute Angle includes built-in crypto-ready features such as push trade notifications, the NODE native token, a dapp wallet and an optional cold-wallet plugin.
According to Huobi ,Acute Angle is the first with a view at the future lineup of blockchain-based phones from Whole Network, with plans for 5G capability for future phones
Whole Network also joins Samsung and Sirin Labs, among others, in blockchain-based phone development.
Samsung Developers Kit (SDK) had a bitcoin functionality dully created and added by Samsung, last month.
